About the Item

Empire side table hand-made in France in the early 1800s using cherry wood. The table is very elegant in lines featuring very straight edges couple with soft, curved legs and hand-turned I-stretcher. The table features a single, inset drawers with replaced brass pulls, and beautiful, hand-made dovetail joints. The top is comprised of a framed center panel with inset banding. The linearity of the top of the table is beautifully balanced by the curvature of the cross legs, and the light color provides it with some softness as well. Overall this is a beautiful and very modern-looking side table, despite being about 200 years old. Its overall size will make it a perfect side table next to a sofa or your favorite reading chair, with a colorful reading light on it.
