Rare Original 19th-Century Half Cabinet with Brass Mounts and Caryatid Carvings, Shellac Hand-Polished
An exceptionally rare and original half cabinet, highly sought after by collectors. The piece features an upper drawer set above a door panel, both fitted with elegant brass hardware and refined brass decorative mouldings.
The corpus is richly adorned with beautiful caryatid figures placed on all sides, giving the cabinet a sculptural presence and remarkable artistic character. It stands on tapered feet, which lend it balance and a graceful silhouette.
Expertly restored with great respect for its natural patina, the cabinet has been hand-polished with shellac, resulting in a deep, warm sheen that enhances the richness of the wood.
