About the Item

A charming Aesthetic movement oak side table by British architect and furniture designer Charles Locke Eastlake. The table in the Gothic manner displays a generous top raised on four turned supports complemented by a second tier. The latter is adorned with a geometrical design to each side and finished on sturdy carved block feet. In great condition with good colour and patina. The underside of the table top is carved with the date 1885 and the inscription Penrose. English, circa 1870. TOTAL H: 68 CM H: 26.7 INCHES W: 72 CM W: 28.3 INCHES D: 54 CM D: 21.2 INCHES
