About the Item
A fine quality antique French Louis XV marquetry inlaid rosewood and ormolu jardiniere, wine cooler, side table, circa 1860.
The table with a removeable lid with twin gilt bronze rococo handles, finely inlaid with fruitwood and satinwood marquetry, the lid reveals the original removable metal liner. Such tables were used as planters or jardinieres but also for chilling/storing wine bottles. The ogee shaped top with corresponding floral marqetry and gilt bronze mounts at each corner, the base of serpentine shape
inlaid with satinwood stringing. The table is raised on cabriole legs.
Condition is excellent, this very elegant antique table is all original and ready to grace your space.
