Exquisite Biedermeier Side Table with Drawer, Walnut and Elm Veneer
This elegant Biedermeier side table from the early 19th century is a fine example of refined craftsmanship and timeless design. The round tabletop features a meticulously crafted piecrust walnut veneer with a central medallion, showcasing the signature geometry and balance of the Biedermeier style.
A discreet drawer is seamlessly integrated just beneath the tabletop, offering convenient hidden storage for small items—an uncommon and desirable feature in period side tables.
The table stands on a graceful, vase-shaped central pedestal that rests on a hexagonal base. Both the pedestal and base are adorned with matching walnut veneer, while the lower portion of the foot is finished in contrasting elm veneer, enhanced with a decorative dot inlay.
The piece comes expertly restored and finished with a traditional hand-applied shellac polish, highlighting the rich tones and natural beauty of the veneers while preserving its historical authenticity.

This original Biedermeier table dates back to around 1820-30 and comes from Southern Germany. The table has a central column which stands on a trefoil base.
