About the Item

Country French table carved and painted in pale sage green with a rouge marble top and gilt wood accents, c. 1940s. A stunning table with a serpentine marble top having variations of green and white set upon a broad foliate scrolled frame finished on all sides with a conforming gilded frieze with openwork and scrolling acanthus leaves set on cabriole legs joined by a shaped cross stretcher ending in gilt leaf scrolled feet. The lightly distressed, soft green and gilded accents complement each other beautifully. A versatile table suitable to float in the middle of a room and will work nicely in a variety of settings. This is a finely crafted table reminiscent of 18th century fine French furniture with lots of old-world charm and rustic European elegance.
