About the Item

Coffee table, wired glass, lacquered metal, the Netherlands, 1950s. This coffee table is a distinctive example of Dutch Minimalist Mid-Century design. It strongly resembles designs by Gispen of the fifties. The black metal tubular base stands out significantly. An interesting composition is created by the combination of diagonal and straight lines, curved underneath the glass table top. The open frame is nicely visible due to the transparent table top, which is executed in wired glass.
