About the Item

This early nineteenth century French Empire period mahogany somno or drum table features a black marble top and a hinged curved door with bronze pull. Its cylindrical form and clean lines lend a refined yet modern character. Its interior has two shelves one of which is marble. This classic piece will make an excellent pedestal for displaying a sculpture, or would function well as a side table beside a chair, circa 1810.
