Crafted in France circa 1920, this refined antique side table or étagère reflects the enduring elegance of Louis XVI–inspired design, interpreted through early 20th-century French craftsmanship. The rectangular top is richly veneered in walnut and features delicate floral marquetry centered by a classical musical trophy motif, framed within fine inlaid borders. A pierced brass gallery surrounds the top, adding both visual definition and functional protection.
Below the top, a single drawer with original turned pull provides discreet storage, while two graduated lower shelves offer practical display space. The table is raised on slender, gently tapering legs that terminate in subtle sabre curves, reinforcing the light, architectural proportions characteristic of the style. Brass banding accents the shelf edges and structural junctions, lending a refined contrast to the warm walnut tones.
