About the Item

A superb and elegant French mid 19th century Louis XV st. kingwood and tulipwood side table. The scalloped shaped table is raised by elongated cabriole legs, decorated with ormolu chutes ending with wrap around sabots. A scalloped frieze with a kingwood border and tulipwood inlay is decorated with exquisitely fine marquetry of scrolled foliage on all sides. At the drawer is an ormolu keyhole escutcheon, all below the mottled ormolu border surrounding the beautiful top similar designed with a kingwood border and tulipwood inlay and finished with elegant marquetry of foliage. All original gilt.
