About the Item

This French pedestal or gueridon table was handcrafted in the 19th century from walnut, its carved techniques reflect Biedermeier creativity and the restraint of Louis Philippe style to fit with a range of interior design tastes today. The relatively simple disc for the top surface wears a fantastic patina, ringed with a low rim around the circumference, and rising from a thick, turned leg that swells and narrows in an exciting silhouette. Branching into a tripod at the floor, the expressive feet give it the stability of a pedestal while still appearing light on its toes.
