Made from satinwood, it has gently curved cabriole legs, detailed brass mounts, and lion’s paw feet—classic features of mid-18th-century French furniture. The top is decorated with floral marquetry, using different woods to create a bouquet that shows the era’s love of natural forms and decoration.
Geometric parquetry patterns decorate the apron and sides, showing the skill and attention to detail of Parisian cabinetmakers. The sliding top opens to reveal hidden drawers and a hinged panel that can hold a book or mirror, highlighting the table’s inventive design.
