An exquisite French Provincial Louis XVI style occasional table, crafted in Northern France circa 1840. This elegant circular table features an unmistakable specimen marble top in vibrant earthy tones, framed by a finely cast pierced bronze gallery. The base is richly inlaid with geometric parquetry in contrasting woods, exhibiting a masterful illusionistic cube motif.
Supporting the table are four tapering legs joined to a rounded apron that conceals two discreet drawers. Additionally, two pull-out candle slides extend from the apron, each inset with a green tooled leather writing surface, offering both charm and utility.
This piece exemplifies a refined provincial interpretation of Parisian neoclassicism, balancing sophistication with practical ingenuity. A perfect statement piece for use as a side table, writing table, or decorative accent in any elegant interior.
