About the Item

A compact study in rhythm and relief, this solid oak side table channels the sculptural vocabulary of French modernist Charles Dudouyt—where architectural planes meet playful bobbin accents. A square top floats above an open cubby framed by vertical spool rails; below, a tapered baluster support rests on a stepped plinth base, creating a stacked rhythm that holds visual weight from every angle. Dense French oak reveals tight grain and a deep, hand‑rubbed café finish, enriched by decades of mellow patina. At just above two feet tall, it’s an ideal drinks table, nightstand, or sculptural perch for objets. Condition: Great vintage condition with minor surface wear, including indentations and scratches. Softened edges consistent with age; structurally sound and newly conditioned with museum‑grade wax.
