About the Item
The German word for “hold, stay and last”, Halten is designed to be a cherished companion for everyday life. In a home or hospitality setting, you can easily take it with you to pair with an armchair, sofa or pouf.
The design reflects Herkner’s impeccable eye for detail and proportion, his affinity for form, and appreciation of precious materials.

Production Process
Warm Black frame:
Made of high strength steel, the parts are CNC bent and welded in position. The frame is then sanded and powder coated with black rubber gliders added to the top frame.
Marble Top:
The marble is cut to size and polished to a satin finish. The edges are ground and polished with the hole drilled in position.

Designer
Sebastian Herkner
German designer Sebastian Herkner transposes contemporary objects into cultural artefacts and vice versa, channelling his appreciation of authentic materials and artisan skills combined with modern technology. After graduating from the University of Art and Design in Offenbach, Herkner’s apprenticeship with Stella McCartney in London triggered his fascination with form, structure, texture, material and effects, evident in all of his work, including even the smallest of details.
Herkner's Sillon, part of the &Tradition collection, are a series of circular and rectangular mirrors in varying sizes inspired by the designs of French Art Deco.
