About the Item

An impressive and most decorative Italian 18th century Louis XV Period patinated Wood and Scagliola side table/desk. This wonderfully detailed rectangular table is raised on patinated off-white legs accented with patinated yellow borders and leading to Rocaille designs above each leg centered by patinated black cabochons. The arbalest shaped apron continues the same patinated yellow border, while centered by a concealed keyhole surrounded by a charming Rocaille carving, and flanked by the original foliate Iron pulls. Above is the spectacular and intricately detailed Scagliola top showcasing faux painted stones and a central medallion surrounded by a symmetric pattern of foliage, flowers and scrolled crests. The top is fitted within a patinated bordered with a mottled edge. All original hardware and patina throughout.
