19th Century Italian Sorrento Side Table. Table features intricate geometric and figural marquetry inlay to the octagonal top. The central medallion depicts a classical scene of a soldier on horseback, slaying a dragon. The center is framed by elaborate geometric banding in contrasting woods. Raised on a turned stem with scrolled supports, resting on three bracket feet.
This table is an ideal accent piece and can be used in today's homes in a living area, as a statement entryway table, in a study or bedroom, or displayed on its own as an art piece, highlighting the detailed Sorrento marquetry craftsmanship.
