This is an old Japanese primitive-style display stand, dating back to the early Shōwa period (circa 1900s–1940s). It possesses a one-of-a-kind presence, quietly bearing the passage of many decades. The material is majestic zelkova wood (keyaki), whose deeply carved growth rings and flowing grain convey the raw strength and dignity of nature itself.
While the form is extremely simple, it is a truly exceptional piece with overwhelming presence.
