A charming mid-20th century hand-carved elephant side table, beautifully crafted from solid wood and topped with a decorative bone-inlaid panel. The sculptural elephant base features intricate chisel work, textured details, a curled trunk, and carved bone tusks, giving this piece so much character and personality.
The top showcases a rich wood panel with carved florals and bone inlay, depicting lotus flowers and an elephant medallion—classic motifs found in Southeast Asian decorative arts (likely India or Thailand, circa 1950s–1970s). The top lifts off and secures to the base with a central threaded post, as shown.
Age-consistent wear is present throughout, including scuffs to the feet, small losses to finish, and natural patina that only adds to its charm. A fabulous accent piece for eclectic, global, boho, Old Florida, or British Colonial–inspired interiors.
