About the Item
This tubular glass and steel Eileen Gray (attributed) E1027 end table was originally designed by Gray in 1926. The ingenious design features a chrome-plated tubular steel frame with circular glass tabletop that cantilevers over a c-shaped base. The table height is adjustable along the base making it a versatile accent table next to a chair, sofa, or bedside. The distinctive form and elegant proportions of this side table have made it an icon of early 20th century modernist design.
CONDITION
Excellent vintage condition with wear consistent with age and use. New replacement glass. Very minor rough edge around the tabletop hole. Polished frame is generally bright and clean with some areas of patina especially at the base. Welds are clean and polished. Chain hangs from bottom of figure-eight shaped connecting brace and glass top metal supports are connected to underside of the tubular frame with screws as per original design.
