About the Item

This elegant pair of antique side tables was crafted in Normandy, France circa 1780 and reflects the restrained, architectural character of French Louis XIII provincial furniture. Constructed from solid oak and assembled with traditional wooden pegs, each table features a compact rectangular top with a gently curved front edge, lending softness to the otherwise robust form. The tables are raised on four finely turned legs, joined low by a sturdy square stretcher that provides excellent stability and reinforces their rustic country origins. The surfaces display honest wear, scattered nail marks, and subtle irregularities consistent with age and use, all enhanced by a warm, time-earned walnut patina that adds depth and character to the oak.
