About the Item
“Revolve” – No. 5
This is made in a limited edition of only 3 pieces + 1 AP
The three sculptural furniture pieces are made in three different colors, making them all truly one of a kind. The piece in the photo has been sold, but you can request your favorite color under customization. This would be made to order and numbered as No. 02/03.
The piece is made from plaster, fish glue, and pigments. It's waxed and weighs 33kg (72.8lb).
About Revolve:
The starting point of this project is rooted in Flensted Mouritzen's interest in old stucco materials and moulding techniques. It has grown into a fascination with the two-dimensional line of the running mould technique being transformed through a specifically created turning machine into a three-dimensional object.
Every piece begins with a line and through the building up of material, the three-dimensional manifestation of that line is created. The objects are simultaneously built and decorated through the process of their making. The process of building up the layers to create the form is emphasized by using different pigments in each layer of the stucco material, making their creation very present in the finished object. The resulting objects are contemporary 21st-century design pieces that balance function and sculpture.

Flensted Mouritzen
Flensted Mouritzen was founded by the Danish designers Troels Flensted (1987) and Ragna Mouritzen (1987), with the vision to explore materials, colors, and ways of making. They create contemporary design gallery pieces that balance function and sculpture. Individually the two designers have won several talent awards, showcased their work in numerous solo and group exhibitions throughout Europe, and received several grants and residencies. In 2018 they did their first official collaboration and have continued to develop new projects together since. They both studied at University of the Arts London (Central Saint Martins
Camberwell) and the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Design, and are now based in Denmark where they continue their individual practices as well as their collaboration. Besides working together professionally, Troels and Ragna are husband and wife.

Table 2 La Che by Sebastian Herkner

Table 2 la che by Sebastian Herkner
Materials: 100% Fique fibers from Furcraea leaves from Furcraea leaves.
Technique: Hand-woven in Colombia.
Dimensions: Diameter 37 cm x W 22 x H 46 cm
Available in colors: black, verde, bronce, cuerda. And other sizes.
The La Che Side Table honors the beautiful traditional weaving craft of Colombia. Sebastian Herkner designed the collection after visiting Colombia and studying the weaving techniques of the local artisans. The name La Che is a reference to the Laches, an indigenous Colombian people, who used a method with the same name to create baskets. The tables are available in three sizes.
The tables are made in small workshops in the Boyacá region, which is situated 2,400 meters above sea level in the Colombian Andes. This area has a long tradition of working with fibers made from the leaves of the fique plant. These fibers are wound by hand and a robust part of the fique plant is used as a frame. The dyes used have mostly natural ingredients, such as nuts, roots, and bark from trees, all native to the region. The production process is very labor-intense and requires a great deal of skill: It takes several weeks to produce one La Che table...
