Hermhaus is a contemporary design studio and manufacturer based in Istanbul, working at the intersection of furniture, sculpture, and architectural objects. The studio is recognized for its original designs defined by strong material presence, clear geometry, and a restrained formal language. In 2023, Hermhaus was awarded the EDIDA Young Designer Award, acknowledging its contribution to contemporary design and craftsmanship. Specializing in sculptural furniture and refined display objects, Hermhaus approaches each piece as an independent design rather than a purely functional product. The studio’s work explores scale, proportion, and spatial balance, allowing furniture to act as a quiet yet confident architectural element within an interior. Designs are informed by a wide range of influences, including contemporary and classical art movements, architecture, production methods, and fundamental geometric forms. All designs are developed in-house, with direct involvement in both design and manufacturing processes.
