About the Item
Socle No81 Stool, Solid Wood Minimal Furniture by NONO
Socle side table, auxiliary table, night stand
Socle is a small solid wood table designed by the NONO design team. Made of solid wood, its elaborated construction serves as a support, much like a plinth for a statue or sculpture.
In the past, the plinth was purely functional, serving only to stabilize and present the artwork. But through the work of artists like Donatello during the Renaissance and Constantin Brancusi in the 20th century, the base has become an integral part of the artwork itself, no longer distinguishable from the object it supports.
Socle, with its solid wood construction and sculptural design, is a perfect example of the marriage between form and function. It not only serves as a stable support for your belongings but also adds a touch of elegance to your living space. It's a perfect combination of design and utility.

Joel Escalona is a Mexican designer, difficult to define with a single word. His constant search for clarity, integrity and harmony led to his development as a designer with an obvious inclination towards visual arts, such as painting and sculpture. Joel’s work is characterized by thorough and elegant processes, sometimes creative, other times productive and on occasion, a bit introspective. In his work, it is possible to find glimpses of his charismatic and ironic personality, resorting to elements such as lyric, humor and poetry as attributes that are in constant connection throughout his body of work.
