Incredible Spanish Revival Rustic Style Artes De Mexico Internationales SA octagon hand painted side table, drum table, or cabinet with open storage. This piece has been attributed based upon archived research including online sources, vintage documentation and catalogs, designer literature, and other materials and, it does retain a piece of the original tag on the bottom. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear even if it has been refinished or restored. Specifically, it has a lot of wonderful distressing and an all over patina. Please see photos, zoom in for details, and see long description as they are part of the condition report. Behold… this is a marvelous unique Spanish Revival Rustic Style Artes De Mexico Internationales SA octagon shaped hand painted side table, drum table, or small cabinet. It is gorgeously hand painted with a beautiful cream and gilt finish and adorned with gold trimmed arched panels on each of its eight sides depicting a hand painted interestingly clothed and colorful figure…possibly Saints or sacred, spiritual individuals. Two of its sides are, actually, double opening doors with hand forged teardrop handles which open to ample useful storage. Perfect for anywhere you need a little side table or place for a cup of coffee or cocktail… as a matter of fact you could use it as a mini-bar and store liquors, coffees, teas, or your beverage of choice inside. Or maybe in a sitting room next to a comfy lounge chair… fill it with books or your favorite reading material. And there is just something extra special and exquisite about the marvelous natural distressing and all-over patina on this piece! It seems to draw you into a different era and fill your soul with curiosity and admiration of its life. An existence that regrettably, must be left to the imagination… It is simply FASCINATING!!! Artes de Mexico Internacionales, SA addressed Cipres 377 Mexico 4, D. F. imported handmade pieces from Mexico, some even signed by their makers, exclusively for sale to the trade. Which means they sold only to architects and interior designers and not to the general public. Making their pieces harder to find and more exclusive. BUT, although they have beautiful pieces as well, do not confuse Artes de Mexico Internacionales, SA with Arte de Mexico which is a Los Angeles based shop selling production pieces to the public.

Fantastic vintage Spanish Colonial Revival style oak cupboard, hutch, cabinet, or dry bar comprised of hand carved oak, wood pegs & shelves, & brass. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. This piece has lots of wonderful patina. We have added new magnetic latches to doors as they we just not staying shut on their own. Please see photos and zoom in for details. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa, Late 19th Century through 20th Century. We really have a hard time determining age of this piece. It is fabulous no matter and is priced for its beauty and not its age.
Enigma definition: A person, object, or thing that is mysterious, puzzling, or difficult to understand. This cupboard is just that… definitely puzzling and mysterious!! And I sure wish it could talk because I bet it has some GREAT stories to share!! Something tells me it’s seen a few things and has had quite an interesting history. It is a one-piece cabinet comprised of oak with a top and bottom section and an open center section. The doors have carvings with (what we believe are) dates back to the 1600’s. The door fronts remind me of vintage livery cupboards… they are nostalgic and quite mystifying!! We don’t believe the whole cupboard is quite the same age, hence, more mystery! We believe the body or frame of the cupboard is Early 1900’s, possibly earlier, and was made from reclaimed lumber or someone possibly took pieces of an old cabinet and repurposed it. The top section is constructed with mortise & tenon joints (no nails!), the inner top & base cabinets each enclose a single adjustable wood shelf with aged wood peg brackets, and stepped siderails or shelf supports. Both the top and lower door fronts bear enigmatic brass armoire hinges...
