A stunning French Modernist geometric orb pedestal table, exquisitely hand-crafted, exceptionally executed in Art Deco - Streamline Moderne period styling, artistic sculptural form, having a thick solid wooden square top finished in exotic and luxurious book-matched Madagascar Ebony, over black lacquered vasiform shaped tapered circular ball central column, rising from rich Madagascar Ebony inlaid plinth base. Rich, glossy finish adds striking character and depth, dramatic yet delicate silhouette brings a new look to a very classic shape. Circa 1940
An exceptional example, elegant, sophisticated and timeless design that's as warm and attractive as it is functional, perfect to display a sculpture, stack a few books, perhaps a vase with fresh cut flowers, or use it alone as a artistical accent piece.
