About the Item
This is a tool used by lacquerware craftsmen from around 1868 to 1950.
Lacquerware craftsmen used wooden barrels to mix lacquer by putting vermilion or black lacquer in them and adjusting the moisture content.
There must have been many barrels like this made at the time, as the number 28 is attached to the back of this barrel.
It is heavier than it looks because lacquer was put in it many times.
It was painted and wiped off, painted and wiped off, and thin layers of lacquer were applied on top of each other until it was no longer in use, and someone polished it to give it this appearance.
It is likely that a glass top was made in recent years and it was used as a table.
The black and red are intricately intertwined, giving the illusion of being drawn in.
The outside is not doubled, so you can enjoy the appearance as it was used at the time.
Enjoy the different expressions of both sides on the inside.
It is rare to see a wooden work barrel like this made by a lacquerware craftsman these days. This is a very rare item.
The glass top is made of tempered glass.
There is also a small scratch in the red circle, but it is not noticeable.
This item is just a glass top placed on a table base, so anti-slip stickers are included. Stick them on as you like to keep the table in place.
This is a recommended item.
Weight of table top: 9.35kg
Table base size: Φ54.8cm h24.5cm
Weight of table mace: 10.25kg
