About the Item

The coffee table made of teak wood, designed by Franco Campo and Carlo Graffi for the Home Collection Torino production in the 1950s. Dimensions: length 121 cm. x width 46 cm. x H 35 cm. Featuring an essential and functional design, this coffee table embodies the modernist style typical of the era, with clean lines and a light but solid structure. The teak top, known for its durability and natural beauty, rests on a base with tapered legs, giving the piece a refined and timeless look. With Original Label Franco Campo (Turin, 1926) and Carlo Graffi (Turin, 1925 - 1985) founded an innovative furniture atelier "Home" in 1956, after studying together at the Turin Polytechnic. The characteristic feature of their furniture was curvature. Much of Franco Campo's professional career is linked to that of Carlo Graffi; they met as college students at the Polytechnic University of Turin. Both studied engineering and architecture with Carlo Mollino and, after graduating in 1950, continued to collaborate with their professor of architecture and design. In 1956, Campo and Graffi opened their innovative Home furniture atelier. A fire destroyed the factory in 1964, ending both Home and the collaboration between Campo and Graffi. After the separation, Graffi continued to work with Carlo Mollino while Campo continued to design furniture and interiors.
