About the Item
This large coffee table was designed by architect Johannes Spalt in 1961 for the "Constanze" series.
However, only a few pieces were ever produced; all featured a travertine tabletop.
The model offered here, with a solid oak tabletop, is likely (according to a former Wittmann employee from whom the table was purchased) a unique piece produced by Wittmann for promotional purposes (catalogs, brochures). However, this version was too complex and expensive for mass production.
Due to the materials used and the craftsmanship involved, the table is naturally very heavy.
