About the Item

19th century solid oak gothic revival butlers tray on stand circa 1870. Fine quality butlers tray on original stand, unusually made in solid oak from Sweden. Shaped gallery with hand carved acanthus leaf detail, this shape is flowed into the sides and carrying handles.  Top surface with good grain and patina, finished with a moulded lip to the front edge.  Raised on substantially turned holding legs. Very practical table for everyday use in multiple rooms around the home, such as a lamp table or in the hallway. Good colour and patina, minor surface marks from use.  Natural shrinkage/warping to supports but not effecting its performance. Height to serving top: 29 1/2"
