About the Item

A handsome William IV mahogany and parcel-gilt tray on stand that exemplifies the restrained elegance of the period. Both tray and stand are crafted from rich mahogany polished to highlight the wood's natural grain. The rectangular tray has wide brass handles at either side for ease of transport. The top of the stand features a gilt rope-twist edge that frames the tray. A central tapered column supports the tray and features gilt molding offering an elegant contrast to the dark mahogany. The base is a broad platform with four out-swept legs, each adorned with a gilt medallion, ending in half-spherical feet. This piece offers the perfect combination of functionality and aesthetic appeal suited to a refined interior setting.
