A very good looking and well made piece, it’s super rare to find one of these with the period bowl, usually, as is the case with this one, they are dropped and broken as these were daily used pieces and always had soap and water involved so they were knocked around a lot
DETAILS OF THE BOWL
Manufactured by J and M P Bell and Company in Glasgow, this serving dish with a blue and white transfer printed design depicts a man on a chariot being pulled by two horses with buildings in the background. There are smaller fountain and chariot motifs around the rim - this is also known as the 'Triumphal Car' design
Condition wise the table is in lovely period condition, the bowl has lots of repairs and patina but as mentioned, it’s a miracle its survived even in this heavily patinaed condition
