About the Item
David Slivka's ink drawings series of the 1960s represented a melding of the organic and the abstract. "He was one of the last remaining members of The First Generation of American Abstract Expressionist Artists and like them, he sought to infuse spontaneity into his art accompanied by the freedom to accept or reject the accident which emerged as the result." Slivka lived and worked in the Hamptons, NY, along with other renowned East End artists such De Kooning, Pollack, and Motherwell.
The "Untitled 5" work is signed and dated by the artist. The ink on paper floats with the frame. The framed dimensions are 23.5" x 29.5" .
