Handmade gold foil paper art piece in Minimalist painted wood frame.
Piece is by Texas architect and CONTEXTvintage curator, Mila Goldman Moore, signed en verso.
Mila's love for geometric abstraction and the rigor of a grid has revealed an ongoing series artworks that explore the imperfectly perfect nature of the human impact on repetition. Similar to the old game of 'telephone', and the way that the same message changes after being passed from person to person, these pieces utilize one unit repeated horizontally and vertically. Over and over, one piece is placed, painted and then the next, and on and on. The outcome always feels related, but never duplicated.
These pieces evoke an understated glamour in the richness of gold, yet are always toned down by humble presence of natural pressed paper and the introduction of color, typically enveloping the gold in a warm hue.
The balance of high and low is one we love; mixing luxury and comfort is a concept that is central to our idea of home and these pieces are the visual representations of that feeling.
