A striking contemporary artwork by Russian-born American artist Alisa Baremboym (b. 1982), titled Untitled (Lox), 2010. Her work frequently explores themes of corporeality, infrastructure, and synthetic materiality. Alisa Baremboym’s work was included in the 2014 Whitney Biennial at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York. Curators: Michelle Grabner, Anthony Elms, and Stuart Comer Work Presented: Baremboym exhibited sculptural installations that explored themes of infrastructure, bodily systems, and material entanglement—hallmarks of her practice. The 2014 edition of the Biennial was notable for its cross-generational focus and for giving significant space to emerging artists like Baremboym who were redefining the boundaries between technology, biology, and material culture.
