Blossom, a Piece of 3D Sculptural Grey Leather Wall Art

Louise creates contemporary, one-of-a-kind leather art pieces. Her work is crafted from two layers of sustainably sourced leather meticulously cut and intricately woven together, creating a rich sculptural surface. When installed, the 3D nature of the work creates a beautiful shadow adding an extra depth to the work. She is inspired by beauty and geometry within the natural world and the mathematics used to create pattern or design. Be it a field of wildflowers or the blossom on a tree, she has always loved the way a single petal or leaf can be repeated over again, creating a myriad of ever changing patterns. Her work is technically complicated, yet has a beautiful simplicity to it. Louise graduated with an MA from Central Saint Martins, where Chanel bought her final year collection. Since then Louise has worked within the fashion industry, designing textiles and new material concepts for luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton, Azzedine Alaia and Chanel. It was here that she fell in love with working with leather. The way it can be cut, woven or folded into 3D shapes, while still remaining soft and tactile provides her imagination with endless opportunities and allows her to create wholly original modern art. Louise's work can be made in any size and the leather she works with comes in 49 different colours.
