About the Item
Risa Glickman graduated with a BFA in graphic design and illustration and a MFA in printmaking form the Pratt Institute.
Ms Glickman spent a good deal of her art career as an illustrator and graphic designer. Among her work was an award-winning animation for Baldwin Pianos, illustrations for Travel and Leisure, Scholastic Magazine, CBS and Holt, Rinehart and Winston. She has had several books published and her work has received honors in Graphis Annual, Modern Publicity Annual, Idea, Letterheads/3 and the Art Direction International Poster Annual. She also designs poster and postcards for the Packer Collegiate Institute Faculty Art and Music events.
Risa is currently drawing vistas of New York City and when on vacation- creating a visual diary. She has also been making large drawings and large mixed media pieces of trees as part of this diary.
Her work is in many private collections and she has exhibited at the Brooklyn Museum, the Carol Shen Gallery at the Packer Collegiate Institute, the 440 Gallery and Danny Simmons Corridor Gallery.
She has taught at Packer Collegiate Institute for seventeen years and teaches Lower School art. Risa was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York and resides there with her family.
