Chinese export tall tazza in silver by Hung Chong (circa 1830-1925).
This is an impressive Chinese Export tall compote tazza created in the 19th Century, circa 1875. Masterfully crafted in solid silver in a round form resting on a mythical dragon, the bowl is finely and profusely chased with figures in a landscape, dragons, flowers and bamboo leaves. Hallmarked with Chinese silver, and the maker;s mark "HC". The mark "HC" on this Chinese export silver indicates that the item was made by Hung Chong, a silversmithing business in Shanghai, China.

The maker is renowned and celebrated for its ultimately elaborated designs and unusual shapes of the pieces.
