About the Item
Morning (1993), an abstract oil pastel by Veronica Benning. A study in blue tones, the piece is signed and dated by the artist. Presented matted in a contemporary silver frame. In great condition.
Veronica Ann Benning (1947-2013), based in Fort Myers, FL, was known for her pastel drawings mixed media paintings. She earned a BFA from Washington University and an MFA from Temple University’s Tyler School of Art. Benning taught painting at the Portland School of Art (now Maine College of Art) and the University of Southern Maine. After moving to Florida in 1993, she continued to paint regularly. Her work reflected her connection to the Maine landscape and her lifelong exploration of visual perception.
