About the Item

Untitled gouache and ink circular abstraction by Veronica Benning, featuring blue hues suggestive of a moon or orbital expressionist space. The fluid composition and mixed medial dimensions suggest a depth and movement. Veronica Ann Benning (1947-2013), based in Fort Myers, FL, was known for her mixed media paintings. She earned a BFA from Washington University and an MFA from Temple University’s Tyler School of Art. Benning taught painting at the Portland School of Art (now Maine College of Art) and the University of Southern Maine. After moving to Florida in 1993, she continued to paint regularly. Her work reflected her connection to the Maine landscape and her lifelong exploration of visual perception. Excellent condition, presented in a contemporary gold frame with white matting. Sight measurement: 11.25 x 8.5"
