The artist Urban lived from 1866 – 1946. Bad Aibling, Germany.
This painting is estimated to have been created around 1940-45.
Urban is a well-known German landscape painter of the early to mid-20th century.
The quality of the work stands out even more vividly by the 1970s wooden frame.
Hand-signed: scratched at the bottom right of the work.
Wonderful bright saturated colours alternate with pastel tones: beautiful midcentury find.
The frame is made of painted wood, in a cream beige/yellow color with silver rim decoration.
