Abstract oil on board painting by Robert Chapman. In the artist's hand made frame.
As the assistant to Willem de Kooning for the last decade of de Kooning’s life, Chapman was afforded the opportunity to glean boundless information from one of the most important artists of the twentieth century. The influence of those many years is evident in Chapman’s work.
Signed with the artist's cipher as well as signed and dated on the back. Titled 'Events on File' 12.30.92. Acquired directly from the artists Bridgehampton, N.Y. studio in 1993.
