About the Item
This woodcut, entitled “Sailing Boat,” was made by renowned artist Ren Hui. His materials and forms of expression have evolved. He began as a poet and photographer, but soon began working with cut paper. Hui eventually put down his scissors and picked up a chisel, incising the world around him into wood. He claims, “whatever the medium, my works are uncomplicated and honest.”
