Natasha Kanevski is a sculptor based in Austin, Texas, whose practice explores the tension between fragility and resilience, control and surrender, through the lens of metamodernism. Working primarily in monochrome, she develops a language of texture and form that foregrounds imperfection, interconnectedness, and the beauty of human vulnerability. Her wall sculptures and large-scale installations combine roughness with tenderness, evoking both spontaneity and meticulous intention. Her ongoing series reflects shifting states of being: Connection emphasizes the strength and harmony found in shared humanity; The Desire to be in Control reveals the paradox of our attempts at mastery despite inherent limitations; and Whimsical Impermanence embraces flow, chance, and the letting go of fixed direction. Together, these bodies of work map a journey through the complexity of human experience. Kanevski's work has been exhibited internationally in galleries and art fairs across the U.S. and Europe, with recent solo exhibitions in New York, Houston, and Austin, as well as a museum exhibition and additional features at the Hamptons Fine Art Fair, Art3f Paris, and the Venice International Art Fair. A finalist for the Singulart Prize 2025 and featured in the Spring issue of Traditional Home Magazine, her practice continues to engage with questions of mortality, unity, and the shared human condition.
