About the Item
This is a finely carved late 18th century Italian frame featuring traditional carved and gilded neoclassical elements. The frame is in remarkably good condition considering its nearly 250 years of life. It was apparently separated from its intended small painting and now frames a high quality antique chromolithograph of the Madonna and Holy Child. This frame is quite unusual as frames of this age and quality are rarely found with square or nearly square dimensions. A mirror could easily replace the print for a different decorative effect.
