About the Item

Exceptional religious decorative element dating from the 18th century representing "the Pascal Lamb and the Seven Seals". Very beautiful work of wood sculpture, all entirely gilded. History --- John receives a vision from Christ who says to him: write what you saw? This one, majestic, dressed in white, the sword of the word in the mouth is expressed: In the celestial worship arises the mysterious paschal lamb, alone worthy of opening the book of divine purposes, sealed with seven seals. When the first six seals open, the plagues fall on the wicked. Jesus Christ appears in Saint John, the seven stars are the angels of the seven churches and the seven candlesticks are the churches. Jesus Christ under the symbol of the lamb takes the book and to open it the seven spirits are sent all over the earth.
