1920s antique Egyptian appliqué panel in frame. Brought back by the current owner's great aunt on a visit after the discovery in 1922 of King Tut's tomb. These Egyptian Revival appliqué tapestries are a fascinating glimpse into the mania for Egypt among wealthy westerners, scholars, etc. Panel: 18" x 17". Framed: 31.25" x 29.25".
