About the Item

A fine Wedgwood blue jasperware plaque with a neoclassical figural composition. The Wedgwood impressed mark appears on verso. Female figures are honoring the devilish Eros who they are raising up to stand on a pedestal decorated with floral swags and Eros' quiver with arrows. A putto carrying a large basket of flowers for the celebration is seen at back. Presented finely matted in a gilt frame. Dimensions: Sight: 11 3/4" x 9 1/8" Frame: 20" x 17 1/4" x 1" D Condition: Please review the detail photos. Minor wear to the lower frame edge but overall good condition. The back has been opened to investigate for Wedgwood mark and taped as shown.
