Boxed sketch made during a study trip to Tunisia by the painter Jean Lanauve-Cluzeau.
The title “Jewish wedding in Hara Kbira” (Noces Juives à Hara Kbira) allows us to date the work.
The artist's desire to capture movement and balance the scene through the arrangement of the figures is evident. Hara Kbira, also spelled Hara Kebira, is a neighborhood in the city of Houmt Souk, located on the Mediterranean coast of Tunisia.
Note: there are a few fingerprints on the paper, perhaps those of the artist?
