About the Item
An Italian pair of four-light unwired "leaf" sconces with their original finish. This vintage pair of sconces from Italy each feature a metal leaf-shaped back plate, which has a beautiful fluidity in movement as it touches and comes away from the wall. There are four metal light arms (in a two tiered fashion) which emerge out on s-shaped scrolls, which terminate into ruffled iron bobèches with painted candle sleeves at their centers. The iron, with its original gold/bronze finish, has a lovely patina throughout. The lights will need to be re-wired for the US. This pair of Italian leaf sconces are just shy of 2.5 feet in height.

A French pair of 19th century sconces mounted on shapely carved and painted wood back-plates. This antique pair of sconces from France have been fashioned from 19th century brass/metal fixtures consisting of elaborately designed metal plaques, metal backplates, and a three-arm light fixture in leaf motif with metal flower petal wrapped bobèches, which have been mounted on 20th century wooden plaques. The carved wood plaque are shapely with scalloped top sides and rounded bottoms, and have a muted green finish which looks quite nice with the patina of the brass and metal. Note that this pair of light fixtures have older wiring. These French sconces will look lovely flanking at entrance within a foyer, or together gracing your bedroom or living room wall...
